Sailing on 01/12 w/ 2&5 y.o. -weather forecast shows rain/thinderstorm in the bahamas and castaway..would the kods still enjpy water activities and will the waves be rough? -what anti motion sickness remedies can u suggest for adult & kids?

Welcome aboard, Christiam! In just a few days you'll be setting sail with Disney Cruise Line and two very excited little ones! I bet they can hardly wait!

I'm sorry to hear that your weather forecast is currently showing rain and thunderstorms. But the good news is that in the Bahamas and Caribbean, there do tend to be rain showers and they tend to pass quickly. Now, I'm no meteorologist, but odds are, you'll have some rain and then it'll clear up allowing you to spend some more wonderful time outdoors on deck on the ship and at Castaway Cay and the other beautiful ports.

But, if rain does come your way, just know that there are plenty of exciting activities inside the ship that can keep your whole family busy all day and all night! You won't miss a thing! When our family has encountered a particularly rocky sailing, we've headed up to the pool when the sun was out. The kids love this, as the pools become wave pools of sorts, with the water splashing from one side to the other as the boat gently rocks!

Hopefully you won't encounter rough seas that would bring on any motion sickness. If you do tend to suffer from that, you might prepare by bringing along dramamine or the motion sickness patches. Some tips to helping settle that motion sickness are to get out of your stateroom and get some fresh air (particularly Midship, as there is less movement of the ship there). Try ginger ale to help, as ginger has been known to be useful with motion sickness. Or you could sip small amounts of full sugar soda like Coke or Sprite. If you're in bed, turn your air conditioning to cold and cover yourself with a blanket (the air around you needs to be cool and circulating). The Medical Center is available onboard if you need further advice or medical attention. Hopefully, though, you will find that the seas are smooth, you feel great onboard and the weather is practically perfect!

    Happy sailing, Christiam!
