Ahoy, Bethanie!
What a WONDERful land and sea vacation you have coming up! A couple of days on the high seas followed by a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth sounds practically perfect to me.
There will be a lot to "sea" and do on your sailing so my best tip is to keep your cruise newsletter and/or the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app handy. On the 2-night sailings, you can typically expect some pirate festivities the first night (pirate attire is suggested) including the high-energy Pirates IN the Caribbean Deck Party! Halloween attire is normally planned for Night Two. Your first newsletter, which you'll receive in the cruise terminal, will have all the details.
The entertainment aboard Disney Cruise Line blows me away every time I sail because I'm always in awe of how the singers and dancers perform on a moving vessel. Last time I cruised on the Disney Wonder, I was able to see Frozen, A Musical Spectacular, and it was like nothing I've seen before on land or sea. This is scheduled for your sailing, so I strongly recommend arriving early to get your seats. I arrived about 30 minutes before and was able to sit down front once the doors opened. It was worth the wait because I felt like I was in Arendelle with Anna, Elsa and Olaf by the end. Also, you don't want to miss Disney Dreams-An Enchanted Classic! This charming story always warms by heart!
Bethanie, you'll have about a two-hour trip to the Disneyland Resort once you disembark the Disney Wonder around 8:00 or 9:00 a.m. I hope you won't have a lot of traffic since it will be a Sunday morning. We did this drive a couple of years ago, and basically followed I-5. We were checked in to Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa and had lunch at Flo's V8 Café in Cars Land before noon. I hope it's a breeze for you as well!
Have a magical time!
