Welcome aboard, Michael! What an amazing journey you have to look forward to this fall. A
Transatlantic sailing with Disney Cruise Line is sure to be a fabulous one!
While I haven't sailed the Transatlantic in September myself, I have friends who have and they rave about the wonderful days at sea and abundance of extra activities available for all the guests - much more than you'd experience on a shorter sailing. You will have plenty to keep you busy! Be sure to check out the Port Adventures in your ports of call, especially the
Port Adventures in Ponta Delgada, which will be a nice change to be able to disembark and explore that island in the middle of the ocean after three days at sea!
As far as weather, it can really vary, as you're on the great wide ocean, but keep an eye on weather temperatures before you set sail, and plan on some cooler days. No matter what, it's always cooler on deck because the wind can make it feel chillier. Since you'll be out on the unsheltered ocean, expect it to be pretty windy at times.
September does tend to have more choppy waves than other times of the year, so you may experience some rocking at times, but I can promise you that Disney Cruise Line is really good about sailing around any storms and navigating out of the way of rough seas as best it can. When we've sailed in the fall, we have had some rougher days, but usually within a couple of hours, we've redirected out of that choppy area and are again enjoying a relaxing ride.
Have fun as you count down to this exciting sailing with Disney Cruise Line, Michael!
