Ahoy, Jennifer!
I was just looking over your cruise itinerary for May, and it looks fabulous! You'll get to experience three beautiful islands, a day at sea to enjoy the
Disney Magic and then the icing on the cake will be your visit to
Castaway Cay, Disney's private island. Wow, what a wonderful six days of vacation!
I always recommend arriving a day prior to embarkation because it helps with some of the stress that goes along with traveling. It sounds like you are already off to a smooth start with your arrival planned for the day before. All aboard for your particular sailing out of
San Juan is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. That should give you enough time to venture out in Puerto Rico before you head to the port. There are a few things to keep in mind as you plan because you don't want any issues to hold you up from your magical voyage. First, I would look into an adventure that gets you to the port in the early afternoon since there is so much to explore onboard the first day. My crew is always so ready to dive right into the cruise that we want to get onboard as soon as possible. An arrival around 1:00 or 2:00 p.m. should allow you time both ashore and onboard before the ship sails away later that afternoon. Also, arriving early afternoon allows you to enjoy your first meal on the ship. This meal always signifies the start of the vacation for my family. After you eat, you can explore the ship or go for your first plunge on the
AquaDunk!
I'm excited for your adventures in the Caribbean this May, Jennifer. Please let us know if we can help you with any other questions before you go.
