We are sailing next month without passports and no time to get them. I am married, so do I need to bring my marriage certificate since my birth certificate has my maiden name on it and my ID has my current married name? Thank you for your help

Welcome back, Dacqueri! That is a great question! I remember right after I was married and all of the paperwork that it took to change my maiden name to my married name. It's quite a project, isn't it?

Luckily, you do not need a passport for most Bahamian and Caribbean cruises with Disney Cruise Line, as long as they begin and end in U.S. home ports, so you will be fine with your birth certificate and driver's license. I would highly recommend bringing your marriage certificate too, just in case you were to run into an issue. Better to be prepared, I always say!

As you can see on the Required Travel Documents page of Disney Cruise Line's website, a guest traveling without a passport on the Bahamian and Caribbean itineraries must provide a state-issued birth certificate along with a government-issued photo I.D. Since your last name won't match, your marriage certificate will be proof that you're the same person. Please be sure to take a look at the specific details about copies and originals of these documents as they are listed on the website, so you're sure you have the right things.

If you have any other detailed questions about those requirements, please give the agents at Disney Cruise Line a call at 800-951-3532 and they can go into more detail with you about document requirements.

    Have a wonderful cruise, Dacqueri!
