We are sailing on January 9, 2015 to Bahamas for my daughter's 4th birthday surprise on the Disney Dream. I stated it's her birthday. Does anything special happen on her special day? Also, what will the temperatures be like on the ship and at ports?

Welcome aboard, Amie! Your daughter is very lucky to be celebrating her fourth birthday at sea with Disney Cruise Line! I celebrated my birthday onboard the Disney Wonder last year, and it was one of the best ones yet!

I'm glad you've already made a note on your reservation about your daughter's birthday. That information will be given to your servers who will rotate with you through the restaurants each night as you sail. Usually, they like to make a big deal out of a guest's birthday and sing "Happy Birthday" that night at dinner and even present a special dessert.

Also, once you board the ship, stop by the Guest Services desk, just off the atrium lobby, to pick up a birthday button. Your daughter will get all sorts of greetings, birthday wishes and attention from Cast Members, Disney characters, and even other guests, when they see her wearing that button.

Have you checked out the Celebrations Packages that are available for pre-purchase as well? The Gifts and Amenities page of Disney Cruise Line's website offers some great extra treats for those celebrating any kind of special occasion. The birthday celebration package might be a fun surprise. Imagine your daughter's delight as she opens the stateroom door to find it decorated for her birthday! There are also specialty cakes available on that same page for pre-order. Those can be presented at dinner or in your stateroom.

The temperatures in the Bahamas in January average in the upper 70's for a high each day, so it will certainly feel like summer! Be sure to pack a light jacket for cooler nights at sea.

Let me know if you have any other questions before you set sail!
