We are sailing on our first Disney Cruise in October. We have two girls ages 6 and 11. The 6 year old will want to do Bibbity Bobbity Boutique. I need to figure out something special for the 11 year old. Is there something age appropriate for her?

    Ahoy, Melody!

The magical plans for your first cruise sound like they are well underway. It will be a SPOOK-tacular time since you've chosen one of the the Halloween on the High Seas sailings! I'm sure you've been brainstorming the perfect costumes to wear to Mickey's Mouse-querade Party. It doesn't get much better than trick-or-treating and playing games with Mickey and his crew!

Vacations are the perfect opportunity to treat your children to unique experiences. Your little one will adore being pampered by her very own Fairy Godmother-in-training when she undergoes a magical transformation. If your 11-year old isn't interested in Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, maybe she would enjoy experiencing a Pirate makeover when it becomes the Pirates League. Guests of any age can visit to be turned into a swashbuckler for the lively festivities. My daughter did the Empress Package when she was 11 and thought it was pretty cool to be an official scallywag for the night.

Another idea to consider is the Me! Bath Ice Cream Manicure and Pedicure available at the Chill Spa. The services at the spa are designed for ages 13-17, but this particular offering is available for those under 13. At this time, appointments for the Chill Spa can only be made once aboard.

Have you thought about a Port Adventure? If your cruise is visiting Castaway Cay, you may want to look into Parasailing, the Walking and Kayaking Nature Adventure or the Watercraft Ski Adventure. Your younger daughter can check into the youth programming on the island, Scuttle's Cove while your older daughter gets to experience an adventure with just her parents!

My final thought is to let her pick out something special from one of the gift shops onboard. Maybe a special necklace or purse that will remind her of her first cruise?

I hope one of these ideas will work, Melody!
