We're sailing on our first cruise on the Fantasy on June 10th! We're so excited, and our oldest son is a HUGE CARS fan. Will that be showing on our ship? Also, how difficult is it to get into a new movie showing? Does the theatre fill fast?

Welcome aboard, Christine! I am so excited about the release of the new Cars 3 movie this June! I can still list all the names of all of the Cars characters, even the minor ones, because my son loves Cars, and he collected so many of the die cast cars, we quickly learned everyone's names. It's so exciting that the new movie will be out in just a few more months!

Since you'll be onboard the Disney Fantasy for a magical seven night sailing when it opens on June 16th, you'll be some of the first people to see the movie! Disney Cruise Line premEARS new Disney movies at sea the same day they open on land, so it will be playing onboard for sure! Most likely it'll run a few times that day, and possibly a late showing the night before. If the showing you want to attend is during the typical show time at night (6:15 or 8:30 - when the Broadway-style shows run the other nights), yes, it'll be packed because families will head in to see it before or after dinner, depending on what seating they have. Don't worry too much about it, but to get a great seat, you'll will want to arrive early, maybe half hour or so. I bet they'll even show it in 3D. We were onboard the Disney Dream when Cars 2 premEARed in the Walt Disney Theatre, and it was such a fun event! I can't wait for you to experience it!

Your son can also look forward to some fun Cars themed activities onboard too. My son loves participating in the Piston Cup Challenge in the Oceaneer Club or Lab each time we sail, when kids design and carve their own cars out of soap and race them. I have a feeling that with the release of the new movie, there may be even more Cars themed activities during your sailing too!

Have a magical cruise, Christine! Ka-Chow!
