Sailing on the Fantasy Star Wars cruise in February. On our last cruise you had to get character greeting tickets. Will it be the same for this cruise. Have an 8 year old grandson, and don’t want him to miss anything because I didn’t see a sign-up!!

    Ahoy, Sandra!

It sounds like you're looking forward to an epic sailing when you get to experience a Star Wars Day Sea on your February vacation. I have a feeling your grandson is going to love this out-of-this-world celebration! The day will be filled with galactic events and activities including some special meet-n-greet opportunities with the Star Wars Characters. Once you're onboard, you'll be able to rank your family's preference for these Character experiences from the five offered. The Request Card will be left in your stateroom and you'll need to complete the form to turn into Guest Services by the stated day and time. On my Star Wars Day at Sea sailing last April, the options included The First Order, The Dark Side, Trials of the Temple, Trusty Companions and Resistance Base. You'll be matched with two and your tickets will be delivered to your stateroom the day prior to the celebration. I have a feeling your Youngling may be interested in fighting the Dark Side in the Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple. If so, I recommend marking it as your number one to better your chances. I noticed it was offered eight times on my cruise to give plenty of young Padawans an opportunity to take the stage!

Sandra, there are other Character Experiences offered onboard the Disney Fantasy that can be planned ahead of time once you've completed your Online Check-in. Currently, the Princess Gathering, Frozen Meet and Greet and Disney Junior Character Breakfast all require tickets to attend. You'll want to click on "Activities" under your cruise reservation so you can check availability for each day. Look for the "My Cruise Activities" tab and then click "Add Activities."

I hope I've steered you in the right direction. Please write back with more questions!
