We are going to be sailing on the Fantasy in October 2012. We have been on many cruises but never with Disney and we have heard great things. I am wondering how the gratuity for the wait staff, room stewarts, etc works? Is it automatically calculated etc?

    Hey Rebecca!

I love being able to help a fellow Georgia Peach with cruise questions!  I'm very excited to hear you are sailing on the newest member of the Disney fleet this fall!  It is a spectacular vessel, and I know you will have a fantabulous time!  Gratuities on Disney Cruise Line are similar to other cruise lines.  It is customary to tip your dining server, assistant server, head server and stateroom host/hostess for each member in your party.  You can charge this to your stateroom account up to three days prior to sailing or it will automatically be charged on the first day of your voyage.  If you prefer paying cash, just let Guest Services know once you are aboard.  On the last night of your cruise, you will receive envelopes and vouchers to hand out to the phenomenal crew members that helped make your sailing extra magical!

I hope your cruise is the first of many voyages with Disney Cruise Line!  Please let me know if you think of any other cruise questions before your October departure!

    Have a fantastical day!
