We are sailing Fantasy on 12/6. We are flying from Detroit. When we check our luggage in Detroit, will we have to claim in at Orlando airport? and then bring it to the bus with us? or will it be delivered directly to our cruise cabin?

Welcome aboard, Jamie! It's not long now until you leave the cold Michigan weather behind and head south for a magical week sailing on the Disney Fantasy! My family and I just returned from a week at sea with Disney and it was snowing in Ohio to greet us upon our return. What a temperature shock! I am ready to head back to Castaway Cay!

Soon you should receive your cruise documents in the mail if you haven't already. That booklet will include Disney Cruise Line luggage tags. If you are flying in the day of your cruise, put the tags on your bags before you check them in Michigan and they will meet you on the ship as long as you're using Disney Cruise Line's ground transfers from the airport. I assure you, there is no easier way to travel than by letting Disney take care of all of the details, including ground transfers and luggage. No need to claim your luggage at baggage claim in Orlando. Disney will claim your luggage for you and deliver the bags to your stateroom on the ship.

If you are flying in the day before your cruise, don't put the tags on your bags just yet, as you'll need to collect your own luggage before you head to your hotel or resort. However, if you're staying at a Disney resort that night, you can put the resort's luggage tags on and let them deliver the bags to your resort. If you are then using Disney's ground transfers from a Disney resort or the Hyatt at the airport, you can put your cruise luggage tags on in the morning, and the luggage will be collected from your hotel room the morning you set sail, meeting you on the ship.

Just be sure to pack any necessary items in your day bag that you carry, as the luggage may not arrive in your stateroom until early evening.

    Have a fabulous cruise, Jamie!
