Hey Eleanore!
Port Adventures are a great way to experience the ports of call offered on your sailing. While some adventures do sell out, it does vary from cruise to cruise depending on Guests' interests. If you aren't sure about what excursions will work best for your crew, you can always visit the Port Adventure Desk on Deck 5 to speak with a castmember once you board. Many times the dolphin experiences are popular as well as the Atlantis Resort excursions. You can take a taxi over to Atlantis to explore on your own, but you will only have access to the restaurants, shopping, casino and aquarium. A day pass will not include the pools, beach or waterpark.
Castaway Cay has many options for those who just want to enjoy the island without booking a Port Adventure. There are many beach chairs, chaise lounges and umbrellas if you would like to spend a relaxing day on the beach with your family. The sand is soft and the water is calm so it is perfect for building castles and splashing or floating around. Two of the newest features on the island are Spring-A-Leak, a water playground and Pelican Plunge, two twisting and turning waterslides. Both are a splashtacular good time! Boat Rentals are available as well as snorkel equipment. Bikes can be rented on the island and the paved, flat path is a fun activity for the entire family. Whatever you choose to do, your family will love all that Disney's private island has to offer!
Thanks again for visiting the Moms Panel. I love spreading my pixie dust on your magical voyage!
