    We will be sailing the Dream in Aug 2013 (4th Disney cruise!!). I would like to know if I can make payment on my cruise online using Disney gift cards and also if I can pay for Shore excursions using Disney gift cards?

    Welcome to the Moms Panel!  Having sailed three other times on Disney Cruise Line, I'm sure you can't wait to hear the words; "Welcome Aboard" is just a few months! 
    You have a great question about using Disney Gift Cards for your cruise payment and onboard expenses such as Port Adventures.  Disney Gift Cards can be used online as payment by entering the number on the back of card.  When you arrive onboard, you can stop by Guest Services at anytime to have them apply the gift cards to your stateroom account.  Since your Port Adventures will show up on your account during your sailing, I would recommend dropping them off on embarkation day.  We actually did this on our sailing last week, and it was a very simple process. We held on to one gift card just in case we didn't spend our entire amount, and the money needed to go back on a card.
