Welcome aboard, Sylvie! It is only a few months now until you set sail for the warm waters of the Caribbean! With the chilly temperatures up north right now, Castaway Cay is sounding pretty good, isn't it?
I'm happy to hear that you're hoping to make reservations for a dinner at Palo while you're onboard the Magic. My husband and I never miss an opportunity to dine there, whether it be for dinner or brunch or both! I dream about the chocolate souffle there! You will not want to miss the "show" night at Animator's Palate, that is for sure, and that will be on your first night in that restaurant, as you'll dine there twice. While I do not know your exact rotation, as that won't be assigned until you arrive at the port to check in, I have a suggestion for you.
Disney Cruise Line allows guests to request a certain dining rotation, so you may want to put in that request. Give the agents at Disney Cruise Line a call at 800-951-3532 to request a specific rotation. While they cannot guarantee this, we have had good luck with always being assigned the one we've requested when my family has set sail. In addition, I would suggest a great night to dine at Palo will be on your second full day at sea, which is day six on your particular itinerary. This is traditionally Semi-Formal night on the ship (with Formal Night usually on the first full sea day). We like to dine at Palo that night because there is a semi-formal dress code there, so if we already are going to be dressed semi-formally we might as well do it that night! Plus, by night six, you'll have already seen the "show" in Animator's Palate, so you won't be missing out on that.
I hope those ideas help you to plan, Sylvie! Have a wonderful cruise!
