Ahoy, Katherine! We're so glad you sailed on over with your question.
The best part of sailing with
Disney Cruise Line for my family is having access to the
Youth Clubs. Going on vacation knowing that there is a virtually endless stream of activities for children ages 3-12, supervised by carefully trained cast members, makes vacation that much more peaceful.
Good news - you
no longer need to make reservations for the kids' clubs! Children are welcome to drop in whenever activities are going on - no need to sign up for a time or a specific activity. You can pre-register your child for the club, or you can do it at the front desk of the
Disney's Oceaneer Club or
Disney's Oceaneer Lab onboard the ship You'll fill out some paperwork, grab your child's wristband, and you'll be good to go.
Youth Clubs host an open house on embarkation day, and it's a great time to bring your little one to explore while you are there with them. It's a great way to sort of get them familiar with things, meet some of the cast members, and maybe make a friend or two that they'll see during the sailing.
A little crying may happen, and there are plenty of cast members there to help soothe a sad little one. If there's a need, however, they will reach out to you to come back. I know with my own girls, they try to get them involved in activities, they spend some one-on-one time with them, and they put in a good bit of effort before they call Mom to come back.
Have an amazing time, Katherine!
