Anchors aweigh, Kaitlyn!
You are so close to sailing away on the
Disney Wish, you must be counting down the hours until you embark on this lovely ship! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question; I'm happy to help with some ideas about how to make your departure day smooth sailing.
While Disney Cruise Line does not offer post-cruise Port Adventures or luggage storage in
Port Canaveral, don't abandon ship just yet because I have a few ideas to save the day.
Several car rental companies service Port Canaveral and allow you to return your car to Orlando International Airport. Their shuttle bus can pick you up from a designated place near the terminal.
Depending on your
travel arrangements before your cruise, it may be more travel and budget-friendly to rent a car from Orlando International Airport (or from the
Car Care Center at Walt Disney World Resort), drive yourself to the port, and
park the car at the terminal during your cruise. The cruise terminal parking rates are reasonable, and the parking deck provides easy access to the terminal entrance.
Another option is to use app-based ride-share services and take your luggage wherever you go. Now, you will probably want to pack lite for this option, but over the years I realize I don't need much on board a Disney Cruise, so it is possible! Spending the day at
Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort with a small amount of luggage would be a relatively easy and very enjoyable way to spend your day.
Kaitlyn, speaking of packing,
this list provides some helpful tips. For a three-night cruise, I find that a swimsuit and cover-up, one outfit for each day plus a
cruise casual outfit for dinner, and maybe a pirate-inspired accessory for
Pirate Night, is all I need. Toiletries and a hair dryer are provided in your stateroom, which saves space in your luggage for any souvenirs you want to bring home.
I hope this information helps you plan your day, Kaitlyn. We are happy to answer other questions you may have!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
