Ahoy there, Kristen! Welcome aboard planDisney! There’s no better topic than Disney Cruise Line and the holidays, so I’m thrilled to help you get ready for your
Very Merrytime Cruise on the beautiful
Disney Magic sailing from Galveston. It’s going to be such a magical way to kick off the season!
Disney Cruise Line provides a general guide for themed nights in the main dining rooms, and you’ll find the exact details once you’re on board using the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app (just connect to the ship’s Wi-Fi once you embark). I also chatted with a Disney Cruise Line agent today so I could share a sneak peek to help you start planning those outfits now!
For your 4-night sailing, here’s what you can likely expect:
Night 1: Cruise Casual
Night 2: Optional Dress-Up Night
Night 3: Pirate Night
Night 4: Cruise Casual.
For Cruise Casual evenings, think of what you’d wear to a nice dinner out at home, such as khakis, sundresses, jeans, or capris. Just skip swimwear and tank tops in the dining rooms. On Dress-Up Night, many Guests choose to elevate their look a bit with a dress shirt or jacket for men and a dress or pantsuit for women. It’s not mandatory, but it’s a fun chance to get a little fancy for photos and dinner.
Pirate Night is one of the highlights of the cruise! Guests often go all-out with pirate-themed outfits (Disney provides a bandana in your stateroom). Be sure to wear your look to dinner and head to the top deck afterward for the pirate show and fireworks!
Since it’s a Very Merrytime sailing, feel free to bring along some holiday attire too! You’ll see everything from sparkly dresses and festive plaids to matching pajamas for post-dinner photos by the Christmas tree. Don’t miss the Tree Lighting Ceremony on the first night... it’s such a heartwarming way to start your vacation. You’ll also have Mickey & Minnie’s Holiday Deck Party, which takes place on Night 2. While there’s no dress code, Guests often wear holiday sweaters, cozy pajamas, or other festive outfits. And one last tip... leave a little extra room in your suitcase for the adorable holiday merchandise you’ll find on board. Disney Cruise Line always has some exclusive items this time of year.
I HO-HO-hope this helps as you plan your packing list, Kristen!
Sea ya real soon,
Eean
