    sailing disney magic 5/14/12. Looking for another way to enjoy Naussau on a budget. We like atlantis but think the excursion cost is too expensive for a family of 6. Can we visit Atlantis w/o booking the excursion? What would you suggest we do?

    Thanks for writing back!  Your cruise is getting closer, and I'm sure your crew is counting the days until you board the magnificent Disney Magic for lots of fun on the high seas! 

    You can visit Atlantis via taxi and purchase an all-day admission which will include access to the aquarium, casino, shops and dining.  It will not include access to the waterpark, pools and beach though.  For a family of six, you will need to budget $150 for this outing  I have stopped in Nassau several times and often enjoy staying on the ship to enjoy it as my destination for the day.  The crowds are often lighter and the cruise staff always has ample activities planned even though the ship is in port.

    If you were looking to enjoy the beach, remember your stop on Disney's private island Castaway Cay will provide you with crystal blue water, soft sand, a water playground, twisting and turning slides and much more!  It is a little slice of paradise in the middle of the ocean!
