Ahoy, Jennifer!
It's wonderful to hear from you again. Can you believe you'll be setting sail for the
Caribbean in just three days? I hope your
packing is about done, and you're ready to relax and enjoy all the Disney Fantasy has to offer.
My teens are huge fans of the youth spaces onboard Disney Cruise Line. Our most recent sailing was also a Western Caribbean Cruise on the
Disney Fantasy just a few months ago. My kids split their time between us and the youth programming, and it created a perfect balance for our week onboard. My son had just turned 14 when we cruised, and he preferred to experience
Edge (ages 11-14) while my daughter (17) attended
Vibe (ages 14-17). Since Vibe is for ages 14 and up, your daughter may not be able to participate during their secured hours since she's not quite 13 yet. I have heard of some flexibility with 13-year-olds being able to go to Vibe as long as the parent signs a waiver. My advice is to visit Vibe during their Open House on embarkation day so you can speak to the youth counselors about your particular situation. Vibe and Edge both offer Open House hours each day so your two can hang out together in these spaces during these scheduled times, which will be listed in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.
Jennifer, if your son and daughter decide they want to participate in Edge and Vibe, I recommend going the first night so they can get to know the youth counselors and join in the icebreakers to get to know other cruisers their age.
Thank you again for cruising by with your questions. Best wishes for a magical week with Disney Cruise Line!
Nancy
