Ahoy, Marcy!
Happy "almost" birthday to your son! I can't think of a better way to celebrate his 11th birthday than a sailing aboard the Disney Dream! I've cruised a few times over my birthday, and they've been extra magical celebrations. The first time I celebrated at sea, my stateroom was decked out with the Birthday Theme Cabin decorations that can be purchased through the
Gift and Amenities Section on the Disney Cruise Line website. I was reminded of my special day every time I opened our stateroom door! I kept the decorations and still use them for birthdays at home. There are also a few gifts you can purchase including Star Wars themed items that make great keepsakes from a birthday cruise. Celebration cakes can be ordered through the Gift and Amenities as well and can be delivered to your stateroom or dining table. Gifts need to ordered three days prior to departure (48 hours by phone), but cakes need to be purchased seven days in advance. Since you are sailing on the Disney Dream, I have a unique idea that is currently offered through
Vanellope's Sweets and Treats. You can purchase any delectable dessert item to be delivered to your dining table. One of the most popular items is Vanellope's Go-Kart Sundae, which is served in a go-kart that your son can keep as a souvenir. If you are interested in surprising him with a sweet treat just stop by during operating hours to order. On embarkation day, it will be open from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m and then again at 4:30 p.m.
Also, please pick-up a birthday button at Guest Services for your son to wear throughout the cruise. All the crew, cast and characters along with other Guests want to wish him well! And don't forget to let your dining servers know so they can sing at dinner!
Have a "Dream"y time!
Nancy
