We are sailing on the Disney Dream! Our departure date is 1/17/20. It looks like there are movies showing on board the ship, and I was wondering if you knew which ones? And how that worked? Do you buy a ticket in advance? Thanks

Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Wendy!

Lights!  Camera!  Action!  It is almost time for the curtain to go up and you to star in your very own epic adventure on the high seas.  I am so excited for you to experience all of the magic included when you sail with Captain Mickey!

One of the best parts of a Disney cruise is the world class live shows and entertainment offered onboard.  This includes recently released Disney feature films in the Buena Vista Theatre.  You can find information on the showtimes of each movie playing during your sailing on your Disney Cruise Line Navigator App or listed outside of the theater.  Tickets are not required; these screening are complimentary while you are onboard!  My family and I usually arrive at the theater about 15 minutes before showtime to purchase some treats and find our seats.  Popcorn, drinks and candy are typically available before each film for an additional fee.

I spoke with a Cast Member and some of the titles you can expect to see during your time onboard include Star Wars Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker, Frozen 2, Avengers: Endgame, Aladdin, Toy Story 4 and The Lion King.  Take advantage of this great opportunity to catch any of these movies you haven't yet had a chance to see in theaters!  My youngest and I have been known to see a movie more than once while we sail away!

Be sure to make time to catch at least one of the live shows in the Walt Disney Theatre!  My favorite on the Disney Dream is Beauty and the Beast, reimagined to feel like the story told in the recently released live action film.

Don't wait for the credits to roll on your magical getaway, visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any additional questions before you set sail!
