We sail in November on the 3 day Dream. We are traveling with a 5 and 3 yr old. Would we benefit more from getting off at Nassau or staying in the cruise ship? We want to be able to enjoy the ship as well. If we should get off at Nassau, what should we do?

Welcome back, Cassandre! On your three night Disney cruise, you'll get to experience two fabulous ports of call!

Castaway Cay is my all time favorite, and I'm sure it'll be your favorite port of call too! Disney Cruise Line certainly offers some fabulous Port Adventures in Nassau, but if you're not planning on booking one of these fun adventures, staying on the ship with your kiddos is a great way to spend the day. I do love the various Atlantis Resort Port Adventures that Disney offers, as well as the beautiful day trips to Blue Lagoon Island. So, be sure to check out the Port Adventures in those spots at Nassau, and if one appeals to you, book it! Disney knows how to take care of families on Port Adventures, so you'd all be in for a great day of really memorable fun! But, if none of those adventures particularly appeals to your family, by all means plan to stay onboard!

We've enjoyed a few trips where we chose to relax on the ship while others got off at Nassau, and it's been a lot of fun. We can take ride after ride on the AquaDuck without much wait, the kids still enjoy tons of options for programming in the Youth Clubs, and it's a great time to wander the ship to participate in the Midship Detective Agency Game as a family! You'll love this interactive mystery game, and your kids will feel like special little gumshoes as they try to solve the case!

So, whether you choose to do a bit of shopping on your own (which honestly, your kids probably wouldn't be thrilled with in Nassau), book an exciting Port Adventure in Nassau, or simply stay onboard to experience more of the ship, you'll have a great day there! But, Castaway Cay is going to be the most magical port of all, I promise!

    Have fun planning, Cassandre!
