Hello, I will sail on the 7-night Alaska itinerary on Disney Magic in September 2026. The DCL app shows Pirate Night in Explore. Could you confirm if this is correct? Also, will there be a Formal Night or Frozen-themed events? I am planning themed outfits.

Hello, friend, and welcome to planDisney! You have quite a wondrous journey ahead. Alaska’s natural beauty and sense of adventure are the perfect complement to the activities, entertainment, themed dining, and other fun you’ll enjoy aboard the ship. I'm happy to share some information that may help you sort out your packing list.

Let's start with Pirate Night – it's not typically part of an Alaskan sailing, and I don't see it on the current schedule for your cruise. It's possible that the Explore section of the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app is showing details for a typical cruise on the Disney Magic when it is not in Alaska. Throughout the year, this ship may sail to other destinations, including The Bahamas, the Caribbean, Mexico, and more.

If there is a themed night during your cruise, it would likely be centered around Frozen. We know that the Frozen Deck Party will be scheduled for select Disney Magic and Disney Wonder Alaskan sailings, but additional details are not available at the moment. You might want to check back as your cruise gets a little closer.

I can tell you that, based on the current schedule, it looks like your cruise will have a formal night on Day 2 (At Sea) and a semiformal night on Day 5 (Icy Strait Point). This is a special opportunity to get a little fancy and take advantage of the onboard photography services. Jackets or suits, dresses, or pantsuits are suggested, but you can also choose to stay in cruise casual attire if you prefer. Keep in mind that these schedules are subject to change.

The Disney Cruise Line Navigator app will be really helpful during your cruise. It'll update once you board the ship and connect to the onboard Wi-Fi. At that point, you'll see the most up-to-date schedules for entertainment, onboard activities, and more. The fun extends to the port adventures, too – check out some of the fun, uniquely Alaskan experiences that you can book in advance!

The countdown is on, my friend! If you think of any other questions between now and embarkation day, please reach out – we're always happy to help here at planDisney!

    Happy cruising,
    Kriss
