Hey there, hi there, ho there...you’re as welcome as can be here at planDisney, Richard! Thanks so much for stopping by with your question.
I’m sorry to hear your RV is in the shop, but I’m glad you’ve got a backup plan. Renting one and towing it down yourself is absolutely allowed at the
Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. There’s no problem bringing a rental RV onto property as long as it’s being towed by the registered Guest’s own vehicle. You might see it mentioned online about needing to rent from Disney’s “Featured Providers,” but that only applies if you’re having a company deliver and set up the RV for you. Since you’ll be towing it yourself, you’re good to go!
Just be sure to confirm the size of your rental RV and double-check that it fits the campsite type you’ve booked. The sites vary a bit in length and width.
Premium Campsites, for example, are a little roomier than Preferred ones. If your rental is larger or smaller than your original RV, it’s a good idea to call
Disney Resort Reservations so they can make a note or help you switch to one that fits better.
Also, you’re in for one of the most unique Disney stays around! Be sure to rent a golf cart in advance, because they book up quickly and make getting around the campground so much easier. In the evenings, you can catch the
Electrical Water Pageant across Bay Lake, roast marshmallows with
Chip ‘n’ Dale at the campfire sing-along, and even watch a movie under the stars. If your visit happens to be this month, don’t forget to pack some Halloween decorations, because Fort Wilderness Guests go all out with inflatables and lights! And for the tastiest tip of all, the
Trail’s End 8-piece fried chicken meal is one of the best values on property, and you can even order it to go and enjoy it at your site.
I hope you have the rootin’est, tootin’est time at The Fort, Richard!
See ya real soon,
Eean
