Howdy Michelle, welcome back to planDisney.
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is like a vacation within a vacation. There's
so much to do - from
archery to horseback riding to singalongs with Chip & Dale. When we stayed in a cabin, we
rented a golf cart, and the kiddos enjoyed our golf cart adventures as much as the Theme Parks!
The Resort is quite big, so when booking, you want to ensure your RV site is close to
the cabins. The Resort is arranged in "loops," and the cabins are in the 2100-2800 loops. The campsites have
different categories - from Premium to Pop-Up Tent- and accommodate various RV sizes. Depending on the size of your RV, you will probably need a Premium (pad is 60 feet), a Full Hook-Up (pad is 50 feet), or a Preferred (45-foot pad) campsite. Looking at the
Fort Wilderness map, I suggest requesting a cabin in the 2100 loop and a campsite in either the 1100 or 2000 loop. This will put you in the closest proximity to your family. The sites in the 1100 loop are premium sites, so they can accommodate an RV of any size, while the 2000 loop has 25-foot pads.
If you pick the 2100 and 1100 loops, you will be in the middle of the Resort, so there will be easy access to amenities and buses for transportation to the parks. You are also close to the Meadow Recreation Area, which has a pool, arcade, and trading post.
Michelle, regardless of which site you reserve, make sure to take a spell and catch fireflies by the fire. It's magical, I promise!
