Royal greetings, Callie!
From one
Disney Princess Half Marathon registrant to another, I'd like to welcome you to planDisney and thank you for coming to us with your excellent
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. Our enchanting race weekend is almost here, and it's time to start planning some magnificent post-race meals! I'd be happy to help you think through your options for nourishment after your 13.1 miles of magic.
Callie, Guests may make Walt Disney World Resort
dining reservations for many Table-Service locations up to 60 days in advance, and Disney Resort hotel Guests can reserve dining for the length of their stay (up to 10 nights) beginning at that 60-day mark. Though course maps for Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend events haven't been released quite yet, the finish line for the Disney Princess Half Marathon will likely be located near the parking area at EPCOT, if similar to previous years. Callie, there are lots of fabulous dining options located inside EPCOT (for example, my family will be enjoying a post-race lunch at Space 220 that day!), but you'll need valid theme park admission for race day if you're hoping to re-enter the theme park after the race. If you'll have an EPCOT ticket that day, consider dining at
Chefs de France or
Le Cellier Steakhouse - these are two of my favorite Table-Service locations in the World Showcase, both offering hardy and healthy post-race offerings. (At the time of writing, both locations still have lunch and dinner availability remaining, too!)
If you won't have theme park admission for EPCOT on race day, I'm happy to inform you there are lots of other options outside the theme parks, Callie. Often, runners will find food trucks stationed around the finish line gathering area for quick bites and sips. Alternatively,
Steakhouse 71, located at Disney's Contemporary Resort, is located just a couple of short monorail rides away and offers fantastic American steakhouse favorites. (It's a lunchtime must-do for me on every trip!) Complimentary shuttle bus transportation will also be available to runners to all Disney Resort hotels after the race, so the world is truly your oyster when it comes to Resort hotel dining options!
Callie, if you're looking for an upscale experience to celebrate your 13.1, consider having dinner at either Cítricos at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa or Jiko - The Cooking Place at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. These are a couple of my favorite Signature Dining experiences on Walt Disney World Resort property, offering diners delectable dishes in an elegant setting. For something a little more filling, try 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. It's my personal favorite for family-style Hawaiian-inspired fare!
I hope you've found these suggestions helpful, Callie. I wish you the very best as you wrap up your race training and a magical half-marathon experience! If you have any additional planning questions ahead of your adventure, you're always welcome to revisit us at
planDisney. We're here to help you make the most of your time at The Most Magical Place on Earth!
Warm wishes,
Lauren
