I am running the Marathon in Jan., I will have my daughter and husband coming as spectators. Do I need to purchase a cheer package for them to see me at the finish line? If so which one should I purchase?

    Hi Joyce!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is quickly approaching and I hope your training is going well!

It is certainly not a necessity for your husband and daughter to purchase ChEAR Squad packages to view you at the finish line, but it may be an added perk they'll be interested in. There will still be viewing areas for spectators that did not purchase ChEAR Squad, but the addition of a ChEAR Squad package is certainly a nice luxury. If they choose to not purchase, I would just recommend they get to the various view points early to give them the best view. For more information on Spectator Viewing locations please check out the Digital Event Guide!

With the addition of the ChEAR Squad they will have reserved viewing locations near Cinderella Castle and at the finish line. In addition to this they'll also get some awesome ChEAR Squad swag to sport while supporting you along the way! This is all included in the Gold Package plus hot and cold beverages and private restrooms. The Platinum Package includes all of this plus entry to the Race Retreat which gives them a catered breakfast with Character Experiences! For which package is better, it really depends on how much they want to indulge themselves while Momma is dominating her race!

I'm sending pixie dust your way for a magical 26.2 miles! Please come back and let me know if you have any other questions.
