I am running my first half marathon January 2020 and signed my kids up for the 200 meter dash. Their race is scheduled on the same day from 11:30-12:30 at ESPN. What are my transportation options to get from the end of the half marathon over to their race?

    Hi Shannon!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I had this exact same scenario during Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend 2019 as my mouseketeer also ran the runDisney Kids Dash, while I completed the Dopey Challenge!

At the end of the Walt Disney World Half Marathon, you'll cross the finish line in the Epcot parking lot. You'll find all the provided transportation at the end of the race will return you to the Walt Disney World Resort hotels, but you won't see an option to ESPN Wide World of Sports, where you need to get for the Kids Dashes. Your best bet will be to go to one of the closest Resort hotels and switch over to get on a bus for the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo, which will take you to ESPN Wide World of Sports.

If you have a park ticket for the day, you can cut through Epcot to Disney's Beach Club Resort and take the Expo bus from there. If you don't have a park ticket, I would recommend a bus to one of the following as they won't be out of the way:
    • Disney's Coronado Springs Resort
    • Disney's Art of Animation Resort
    • Disney's Pop Century Resort
    • Any of the Disney All Star Resorts
You also have the option to use a ride sharing service like Uber or Lyft, but I will warn you I've had difficulty with drivers trying to get into the area to pick me up post race with the road closures.

I hope this helps in planning your upcoming visit. I hope your training goes well and that every mile is magic for you! Please come back if we can help in any other way.
