We're running the Castaway 5K, scheduled at 8:50am. We have a parasailing port adventure scheduled for 10. Is that enough time? Will we be able to store our stuff somewhere during the 5K or will we need (or want) to return to the ship? Thanks!

Welcome back aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Emily!

You are racing toward your high seas adventure with Captain Mickey!  Can you believe that you will be setting sail in just a few days?  I cannot wait for you to experience all of the magic waiting onboard.

I am so excited that you are visiting my favorite Bahamian port, Castaway Cay!  It sounds like you have a great day planned on this island oasis.  The Castaway Cay 5K is a very popular way for guests to start their day on Disney's private island.  Parasailing at Castaway Cay is also one of my favorite Port Adventures!  I was surprised by how peaceful this experience was and LOVED the bird's eye view of the ship in port.

If you are an experienced runner who can burn through a 5K in under 30 minutes, an 8:50 AM start should allow you enough time to participate in this event and return to Marge's Barges before your 10:00 AM adventure.  If you have any reservations about finishing in this amount of time, I would recommend you put the 5K on your list for your next visit to Castaway Cay or move your parasailing Port Adventure to a later time.

I typically carry very few personal items on to the island.  A light cinch bag is usually a great option and can be left in bins near the finish line of the race while you run.  While you are parasailing, you can bring your personal items with you on the boat, so no need to return to the ship in between.

I hope I've steered you in the right direction, Emily.  Cruise back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any additional questions before you set sail!
