When do must runners checkout of hotels for Wine and Dine in November? Are parks very crowded the week of the run or after?

    Hi Karen!

Congratulations on participating in Disney's Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend! This exciting weekend is full of running, food, and fun! I run the Disney Two Course Challenge every year and always have such a blast!

From my experience, most runners check in to their Walt Disney World Resort Hotel on  Thursday prior to the race and check out on the following Monday. Given that there is a 5K on Friday, 10K on Saturday, and Half Marathon on Sunday, this allows runners to participate in all three events. I typically do not check out until Tuesday or Wednesday following the race so I have one or two days after the run to enjoy the parks.

You will notice the crowds begin to dwindle the day immediately following the race and will continue to dwindle throughout the week. I find that the week prior to the race is usually more crowded than the week after.

Don't forget to go to the post-race party at EPCOT on November 6! You can enjoy an evening filled with food, wine, and entertainment. When you visit you should also plan to check out the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. There are some amazing food options in the outdoor kitchens! My favorite is the Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with Baby Potatoes, Cornichons, and Baguette at The Alps!

    Magically,
    Stacy
