Hi, if you are a runner for runDisney, do you need a park ticket for that day? I am looking to run in Jan. 2018.

    Hi Brianna!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. For a majority of runDisney runners, I think everyone's favorite part is running through the theme parks during the event!

Depending on which race you choose to take part in during Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, you'll likely run through a different park. If you choose to run the 25th Anniversary Walt Disney World Marathon, you'll actually run through all 4 theme parks! During the actual race itself you will not need a park ticket, you just need to display your running bib. For some of the races, the portion of the course that is inside the park will usually take place before the park even opens for the day. For the longer distances, that you'll be in the park after other Guests start to arrive, the Cast Members do an excellent job of keeping your pathway clear!

If you plan to visit the park after you finish your race and collect your medal, you will need to purchase a theme park ticket for the day. Your race entry does not gain you entrance back in after your race is over. I know many runners choose to celebrate their accomplishment afterwards in the park, so if you do don't forget to wear your running bling! You should be proud and show of your hard work!

I hope you choose to run in 2018 and if you do I'll see you there! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
