I will run the Halfmarathon with my wife in January and I would like to purchase the Bride and Groom earband, Where can I find it?

Hi Eduardo, and welcome to planDisney! The Walt Disney World Half Marathon is such an incredible event, and even more so since you’ll be running together with your wife. I did the marathon with my sister a few years ago, and it’s one of our favorite core memories!

I love doing themed outfits for runDisney races, so I’d be happy to help you track down bride and groom ears. The available headbands are constantly changing, but you’ll usually find the largest selection at World of Disney in Disney Springs, the Emporium in Magic Kingdom, and Creations Shop in EPCOT. If you don’t see the ear headbands you’re looking for at those stores, it might be worth checking the gift shops at the Grand Floridian Resort, since their Wedding Pavilion is nearby.

Another option would be to order ears from the Disney Store website. Since your trip is coming up soon, you could ship them to your resort hotel and upgrade to 2-Day Express shipping. That way, you don’t have to worry about tracking down ears when you get to Disney World. There’s a Cinderella Ear Headband Bridal Veil currently available on the Disney Store website. I don’t see a groom ear headband (though there is a groom ear hat), but you could purchase a plain Mickey ear headband and create your own.

Before I go, I wanted to share a few tips for the race. I usually recommend wearing your accessories or costumes during a training run. This helps avoid any surprises on race day. Since you don’t have your ear headbands yet, you could run in a different pair to get a feel for what it’ll be like.

When I’ve run wearing an ear headband, I wrap small rubber hair bands around the headband part (the ones used for bubble braids) and then push bobby pins through the rubber bands and my hair to keep it secure. You can play around with this and see what works for you, but this technique kept my ear headband secure when I ran through all four theme parks during the marathon!

And finally, be sure to review the Costumes section of the runDisney Events Policies as you finalize your outfits for the race!

I hope you find the practically perfect ear headbands for the half marathon. And enjoy every magical mile!
