Hi, for the Run Disney of 5k, is it true that we are given like a thermo poncho?

    Hello Fiorella!

How exciting that you’ll be participating in a runDisney 5K! I have participated in more than 15 runDisney events, and they such a fun experience. It was the idea that I could dress as a princess and run through Cinderella Castle that inspired me to begin running more than 6 years ago!

In my experience, runDisney has passed out mylar foil blankets when the outside temperatures have dropped fairly low. They are certainly not a guarantee and you may or may not find them being passed out. The time I received one the outside temperature in the starting corrals was in the low 50’s. I was running in a tank top, so I was very grateful to receive one. Depending on conditions and the distance, blankets may also be passed out after races.

If you absolutely feel you will need one, you should consider bringing your own. I have ordered them online and brought them to the race myself. You can also wear a light sweater or sweatshirt that you are willing to permanently part with. I have done this as well and discarded the old sweatshirt on the side of the road. It is my understanding that discarded items are picked up and donated to charity.

I hope this helps you plan your upcoming race! Please let me know if you have any additional questions I can help with!

    Happy Training!
