Jessica Lynn,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Oh rumors, how fun they can be!
I have never heard this rumor about Christmas being canceled at Walt Disney World, and even if I did, I would not believe a word of it!
My family and I have already booked our trip to Walt Disney World for this November, and we are primed to see all the decorations and celebrations that the parks and resorts have to offer. As you likely have heard,
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a popular special event that has been a mainstay of the
Magic Kingdom for some time now, and I see no reason why it would not be around in 2024. As a matter of fact, Disney has even added an all-new special event this year, the
Disney Jollywood Nights party, which will be at
Disney's Hollywood Studios. That does not sound like something they would do, only to cancel celebrating the holiday a year later.
Even if you do not want to go to one of these amazing parties, I am sure that the park decor will be in place, and the resort decorations will be as well. Most of the Disney resorts will have special extra displays, often created by their restaurant staff, that are worthy of the time to visit. Likely the most famous is the gingerbread house they put up in the lobby of
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. It is so big they have a cast member inside who sells gingerbread houses you can take with you!
So while anything is possible, I truly cannot imagine that Walt Disney World would suspend celebrating Christmas. I don't think you should even give it another thought!
BONUS TIPThe parades and fireworks at the Magic Kingdom special event are two of the best parts of the party! Make sure you try to watch both
Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and
Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, as they are a real treat!
