Hiya, Rebecca! It won't be long before you pass through the gates welcoming you to the Most Magical Place on Earth. As Mickey would say, "Hot dog!"
I'll be there just a day before you and look forward to Rope Dropping, as I have heard the procedures have changed slightly. When I was in
Magic Kingdom Park in January, we were able to enjoy Main Street, U.S.A. an hour before the park opened. There were access points at the entrances to Fantasyland and Tomorrowland for resort Guests with
Early Theme Park Entry to scan in and wait for the Cast Members to get the "All Clear" to drop the rope.
I have heard they are now allowing Guests into the lands to line up for attractions before the park's opening. However, all of this is fluid and subject to change. I've been to
Disney's Hollywood Studios and waited with everyone inside security but outside the ticket gates until the clock struck "Early Entry" hours. A week later, my friend
Elaine went and was allowed into the park to queue up just outside Toy Story Land. It changes. Allowing Guests into the parks before the official opening hours is a little bit of extra Pixie Dust on a magical day.
One thing you can plan on is an official opening at Magic Kingdom Park with
Let the Magic Begin. If you are rushing to
TRON Lightcycle / Run or
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, this may not be the reason you got up and out early, but I love it. The Magic Kingdom holds a very special place in my heart, and seeing them open the park and welcome everyone is a magical moment. You can
check the calendar on the day you plan to be there and even add it to your plans in the
My Disney Experience app.
Rebecca, I hope your trip is practically perfect in every way! If we can help with any other questions, please come see us again at
