Hello there Laura!
Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for sending us your question. How delightful that you'll be staying at the lovely
Polynesian Village Resort soon, that's my absolute favorite Disney Resort. Your vacation will be here before you know it, woo hoo!
Staying in the new Island Tower is also on my Disney Bucket List. These rooms have been in high demand, as you can image... a whole new tropical-themed world to explore! My friends who have dined at the new
Wailulu Bar & Grill say it's absolutely wonderful. If you're interested in dining here, just hop on the
My Disney Experience app when you are nearby, search for Wailulu Bar & Grill, and select "Join Walk-up List". Currently, they do not accept advance dining reservations.
The new Polynesian Island Tower is part of the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, but Hakuna Matata! You do not need to be a DVC member in order to stay there. You can reserve a stay using Disney World's website, through the same page used to book a room at the
Polynesian Resort. There are a number of different rooms types available - from Deluxe Studios to 1 or 2 Bedroom Villas. I would start by searching for your dates, then scroll down and look for the sections starting with "Island Tower". Here is where you'll find any available room types located in the new Island Tower.
If you do not see any availability for your entire stay, but have your heart set on trying it out for a least a night... I recommend searching for individual, one-night stay dates. This will give you a better idea of room availability. Maybe a split stay would work for your plans, if you find an Island Tower Room available for just 1-2 nights? If you decide on this route, Bell Services can transfer your luggage over to the Tower for you.
And if it would help to talk to a Cast Member about reserving an Island Tower room, you can always call
Disney Hotel Reservations. They'll be happy to help!
Laura, I hope this is what you were looking for and that it helps you secure a magical stay at the new Polynesian Island Tower. Please be sure to enjoy a Dole Whip for me, preferably while watching the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach! Feel free to send me a
message at planDisney if I can assist with any additional questions.
Have an amazing time at Disney World!
Sending pixie dust,
Tami
