If I take a room at the resort, can my sister take her children there during the day to nap? Will there be extra steps we have to go through to allow her access to the facilities if I stay with my own older children inside the park?

    Heya Britt!

Welcome to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with your question! We're happy to see you here and would be glad to help you plan what sounds like a fun family trip to the Disneyland Resort. Which Disneyland Resort Hotel did you select? My favorite will always be the original Disneyland Hotel! I love how that property does such a wonderful job of honoring the Resort's rich history.

I recently spoke to a Cast Member about this question and was informed that your sister will definitely be allowed to visit your hotel room with her kids for a mid-day nap. If you won't be accompanying them, then they'll need a copy of your hotel room key to access your room. If they link your hotel reservations to their Disney account, then your sister will be able to Unlock Your Room Door with the Disneyland Mobile App. Tell them to be sure to put up that "Do Not Disturb" sign!

When my kids were young, we were sometimes able to lull them to sleep inside the Parks. Some of my favorite nap locations for young Mouseketeers include: the Disneyland Railroad (my son has slept through many laps on this attraction), Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room, Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, Animation Academy, and the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. But nothing beats the comfort of your hotel room!

The Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival will be going on over your visit. Be sure to catch the original Soarin' Over California as it makes a return during the Festival! It's a classic and will always be near and dear to my heart.

Fun Fact: The music of Soarin' Over California was composed by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith and was one of his final projects. Goldsmith also composed the score for the animated version of Mulan, which was released in 1998.

I hope that this gives you some comfort, Britt, and that it makes the visit more pleasant for your sister. If you need anything else before your trip, please come on back and see us again. We'd love to hear from you!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
