Hi, if a room only reservation was made less than 24 hours ago, but your date of arrival is less than seven days from now, would you be able to cancel without penalty or would you lose your deposit?

    Hiya, Emily! Welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for sharing your question with us. As much fun as it is to visit Walt Disney World, sometimes things happen and we have to change our plans. It happens to everyone! Let’s take a look at some of the rules, terms, and conditions to help you out.

The Walt Disney Travel Company Terms and Conditions for Walt Disney World Resort (which you can find here) say that reservations made 30 days or less before guest arrival require payment in full. So there is no deposit. If you were to cancel that reservation between 2 and 29 days prior to arrival, the terms and conditions say that you will be refunded minus a $200 cancellation fee per package.

If you have questions or need to cancel an actual reservation that you just made, I’d suggest calling the Tickets and Hotel Reservations line to speak with a friendly Cast Member. They will be able to assist you in canceling or rescheduling your reservation.

Whether your visit is quickly approaching or you have a while to plan, here are a couple of my favorite resources for putting together a magical vacation itinerary. The planDisney video library is full of useful tips and tricks for visiting with young kids, tweens, adults, and every age in between, and is definitely worth browsing. The Disney Parks Blog is great for news, updates, and previews of everything happening at Walt Disney World and the other Disney parks. I read it regularly, but I always suggest visiting more frequently as your trip approaches so you’re in the know with everything happening at the Vacation Kingdom of the World.

I hope this info is helpful, Emily. Pop back if you have any other questions. Your planDisney pals are here to help!

    Magical travels!
