Hello Kolby! I see that you'll be visiting Walt Disney World from the Land of the Midnight Sun. I can also tell you are an experienced Walt Disney World visitor, so it's no surprise that you have selected an excellent resort for your upcoming stay!
Disney's Contemporary Resort is my favorite place to stay while visiting Walt Disney World, and I know you won't be disappointed. I have such a soft spot for Mary Blair's mural in the Grand Canyon Concourse atrium (if you're an "it's a small world" fan this is a must-see) and you'll love the 10-minute walk to Magic Kingdom Park!
Garden View Rooms cost less than the rooms in the Main Tower, and this gives them a significant advantage. The other thing to note here is that the decor in the Garden View Rooms is consistent with the rest of the resort, which means the same 250-thread-count sheets and down-filled pillows and the same marble bathrooms, so you're not sacrificing quality by booking these rooms. They are only a 3-5 minute walk from the main lobby (and they are also quieter). When you visit Walt Disney World's website, you'll see three booking categories for the Garden View Rooms- Standard, Garden, and Deluxe View Rooms. Personally, I prefer the Garden View or the Deluxe Rooms (which are slightly larger), as the Standard View Rooms overlook the parking lot. I'd also try to request a room on the first floor since those rooms have a small outdoor patio (the upper floors don't have balconies). Another great thing about the rooms in the Garden Wing is that they have easy access to the pool, which is always a good thing in my book! And staying here means you'll have a perfect view of the Electrical Water Pageant, which floats by the resort on Bay Lake shortly after 10:00 pm.
Have a fantastic stay, and come back and visit us if you need more vacation planning advice!
