Alvin,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
So yes, Jambo House is the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The Animal Kingdom Lodge is actually made up of two parts
The Jambo House part of the resort is the original structure that was built in 2001. The Kidani Village section was added later in 2009, and is part of the Disney Vacation Club program. Since that time, parts of Jambo House have also been converted to Disney Vacation Club rooms, but as with the Club at all their resorts, you don't have to be a member to make a reservation for these rooms.
So where should you stay? I prefer to stay at Jambo House, for a few reasons, but both parts of the resort have their appeal. Kidani Village has an amazing pool, while Jambo House has that iconic lobby area. Really, both are fantastic in their own ways, and both would be a great place to call your home in the magic.
BONUS TIP #1
Sanaa, located at Kidani Village, is in my top 10 places to eat in all of Walt Disney World. The naan bread sampler alone is worth the visit.
BONUS TIP #2
Jiko - The Cooking Place, located at Jambo House, is one of the best fine dining restaurants at Walt Disney World. If you are an oenophile (yes, I had to look it up), they have what was once reported to be the single largest South African wine list outside of South Africa, and offer almost all of them by the glass.
Please feel free to write me back if you have any follow-up questions.
Have a Magical Vacation!
