so, just to get this right, if i pay the $15 per extra adult “overnight” guest (let’s say i have 2) to my reservation for that first night, would they also get free waterpark entry on that first night?

Hello there Kelsey, and welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for visiting us with your water park adventure planning question. This splashtastic perk being offered to Disney Resort guests of receiving free admission to a water park on check-in day is so fantastic! Being from Florida, you could hopefully arrive early and truly maximize this benefit, enjoying a full day of sun and fun. And how exciting that this summer (through September 7) both Disney water parks will be open to choose from.

You know the only thing more pixie-dusted than hanging at Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon for free... is hanging there with a couple of friends! I think they're going to owe you some of those savory mini donuts from the Joffrey's Coffee cart.

Kelsey, you are correct that any guests included on your Disney Resort reservation will receive free water park entry on check-in day. There are a couple of caveats to be aware of, based on the type of reservation you'll be modifying. If you have a room only reservation, and are wanting to add guests to only the first night of a longer duration stay, you may wish to call Disney Resort Reservations and have a Cast Member assist you with this. Alternatively, if you'll be adding them to the entire length of the reservation, you can easily do this yourself.

When including your pals, make sure you are linking to their My Disney Experience accounts and add them to your Family & Friends list. Next you can include them as guests on your hotel reservation, and their water park admission tickets will automatically in their My Disney Experience app on check-in day.

The base rate for your Disney Resort room includes 2 adults over the age of 18. You may add additional guests, up to your room's capacity. If those additional guests are adults, you are correct this will incur an extra charge. Check out my friend Lizzie's helpful planDisney answer which outlines the additional guest fees, which vary by the category of Disney Resort (Value, Moderate, or Deluxe) and range from $20-30 per person, per night, plus tax (prices subject to change).

The second scenario is if you booked a Disney vacation package, which includes theme park tickets. In that case, adding additional friends to your reservation would also add the cost of additional theme park tickets for each guest.

I hope this helps, and that your water park adventure day is packed with sunshine and fun! Please visit us again at planDisney if we can answer any other questions.

    Just keep swimming!
    Tami
