Ahoy there, Elizabeth! Welcome, and thank you for cruising on by with your question.
Disney Cruise Line does not require a passport for closed-loop cruises, which are basically round-trip cruises, leaving from a US port and coming back to a US port. The
required travel documentation for these cruises can be either a passport or a birth certificate, accompanied by a government-issued photo ID.
The birth certificate that is acceptable is either an original, government-issued birth certificate or an official copy of that birth certificate, obtained from the vital records office in the state where the original birth certificate was issued. You can't use the one issued by the hospital.
Also, something to keep in mind - if your original birth certificate is in a different name - for example, if someone has had a name change through marriage - you'll need documentation indicating why the name is different. This is usually proof of marriage or adoption.
I'd also keep an eye on the
Know Before You Go section of the Disney Cruise Line website. There's so much great information there for you to refer to as you plan for your cruise.
I hope you have the best time planning your Disney Cruise Line vacation. If there's anything at all we can help you with, pop on back in to see us!
