What rides are closed at Disneyworld because of Covid?

    Hi Amanda,

Your magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort is less than one month away! Are you getting SO excited?! Around the 30-day mark is when my family kicks into countdown mode, and soon thereafter, we start thinking about what all we'll pack. The joy and the anticipation can be hard to contain!

I'm happy to share that while some experiences like nighttime celebrations, parades, and character greetings have been temporarily paused during the phased reopening, the vast majority of attractions are still available. You'll still be able to sail around the world on "it's a small world," soar through the sky on the back of a banshee on Avatar Flight of Passage, squeal with excitement (or terror, depending on your thrill-seeking comfort level!) on Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, and much more! To find out what attractions will be unavailable during your visit due to refurbishments, you can click on the park hours calendar, then select "Day View" and choose the dates of your visit. Under each theme park, you'll see a list of any attractions scheduled to be closed. The times guides that you pick up near the park maps will also list any temporary closures due to refurbishments, while any unexpected temporary closures will be marked with a star within the My Disney Experience mobile app. Have a BLAST experiencing all of your favorite attractions!

As I mentioned before, some other in-park experiences have been temporarily paused due to COVID-19. Prior to my first visit back after the reopening, I was worried that my experience wouldn't be the same without some of my favorite special events. While I definitely look forward to the day when I can hug Mickey Mouse again, I was so pleased to see all of the incredible ways they had reimagined the character experiences, and I LOVED the cavalcades, flotillas, and pop up sightings throughout the parks. The magic was definitely still alive and present!

Thanks so much for visiting us at planDisney, Amanda, and please come back and see us again if we can help with anything else as you're thinking through the details of your visit. I hope you have a truly magical vacation next month!
