Hi Melissa!
Thanks for coming back to visit us at planDisney!
The easiest way to find attractions that are closed for refurbishment during your trip is to check out the
Hours & Events Calendar. Under each park, you’ll see a drop-down menu that says “Closed for Refurbishment.”
During your trip, it looks like Big Thunder Mountain, The Hall of Presidents, and Astro Orbiter at Magic Kingdom and Test Track at Epcot will be closed for refurbishment. Of course, these are always subject to change, so you can check back as your trip gets closer for the most up-to-date information.
It’s also good to note that with so many exciting changes coming to Disney World, there have been some attractions that recently closed permanently. At Animal Kingdom, TriceraTop Spin, the Dino-Rama area, and the show It’s Tough to Be a Bug closed earlier this year. On June 8, 2025, the Muppet Courtyard area in Hollywood Studios will be closing to make way for a Monsters, Inc. Land. And on July 7, 2025, the Rivers of America area in Magic Kingdom (including Tom Sawyer Island) will close to
start construction on Cars Land.
With that being said, there have also been recent additions to the parks that will be fun to experience during your trip! Two brand new shows just debuted last week at Hollywood Studios:
The Little Mermaid–A Musical Adventure and
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After. And over at Epcot, the bar and lounge,
GEO-82, will be opening on June 4, 2025.
Plus, if you’ll be traveling with little ones, don’t miss out on all of the
Cool KID SUMMER festivities at each of the parks. This is such a fun way to interact with the characters!
I hope you have the best time! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. We’re always happy to help!
