We are returning to POR in April. We just have a standard room as before and there are 4 of us. This is a special holiday as our Daughter is 18 and my husband and I have been together 30yrs. What's the best way to make a room request and when? Thanks

Hi there, Amanda! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for allowing us to help you plan your family’s special Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

Congratulations on two monumental occasions! I’d like to wish your daughter a very happy 18th birthday and you and your husband a magical 30th anniversary! Disney’s Port Orleans - Riverside remains one of my absolute favorite Disney Resort hotels. The grounds of this Disney Resort hotel are themed after the charm of rural Louisiana and take form in the elegant Magnolia Bend section and the rustic Alligator Bayou cottages. The romantic paths that wind along the Sassagoula River are great for a leisurely stroll or, if you’d prefer to take in the sights of the bayou while relaxing, ferry boats are available to take you to the neighboring Disney’s Port Orleans - French Quarter as well as Disney Springs.

Room requests at Disney Resort hotels are actually relatively easy to make! I’ve made a habit of requesting specific rooms or areas just about any time I visit Walt Disney World Resort due to the ease of this process. First, you are going to want to call the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations phone line. You will then be able to give your room request to a Cast Member and have it noted on your reservation file. Generally, I do this approximately four weeks prior to my arrival day. Then, one week prior to my arrival, I call the Disney Resort hotel I am staying at directly and confirm my previous request. I also tend to note whenever I am visiting for a special occasion as well! It should be noted that Cast Members will try their best to meet any requests but they are never guaranteed.

Hopefully this information will assist you in making room requests in the future!
