chEARs Jamie!
Thanks for coming back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You are going to have a fantastic stay at
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort! Its lobby is one of my favorite on the property, and every kid (young and old), will find
something to delight in! From Little Mermaid to Cars, Nemo to The Lion King, you all will be immersed in fun with your favorite Disney pals.
The Resort has 2500 sculpted icons that range from Mufasa to Squirt, and each of the sculptures is scaled to make you feel like you are in the movie that it is portraying. Make sure to take a fun picture in front of King Triton in The Little Mermaid section; you will look like guppies compared to him!
It sounds like you aren’t a fan of Rideshares, and that’s ok (I’m not a huge fan of them outside of Disney property either)! But I will assure you that
Minnie Vans are different than any other car service I’ve experienced. Trained (delightful!) Cast Members will pick you up with
the touch of a button via the Lyft app and take you anywhere on property. It is super convenient and so relaxing, and if you’re traveling with the littles, up to three complimentary car seats per vehicle are available.
We used a Minnie Van to pick us up after a long day at
Magic Kingdom Park on our last trip. My husband liked it so much that he’s considering buying the same type of SUV that they use! The polka-dotted beauties are available from 6:30 am to 12:30 am, and unfortunately, at this point,
Disney Gift Cards can’t be used to pay. But! You can set up a prepaid credit card as payment if you are concerned about your card being on the app.
Disney Bus Transportation from your
Resort is complimentary and starts 45 minutes before the earliest Park opening. So, you could take a bus to
Epcot (if it opens early that day), and then walk through the Park to
Disney's BoardWalk. Or, you could take a bus to
Disney Springs and then transfer to a bus for
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. Either way, if you use the bus, please allow at least an hour of transit time.
Jamie, if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to come back. I wish you
Minnie Magical Memories!
