Ahoy, Anit!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You have asked a great question about what to do with luggage when you have a late flight on disembarkation day. First, I recommend calling Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 to see if your airline is a participating carrier with the
Onboard Airline Check-in program. This service is for Guests who purchase
ground transportation through the cruise line and is for cruises that leave out of Port Canaveral or Miami at this time. If your airline is on the list, you may be able to check your bags onboard, and they will go directly to the airport on disembarkation day. You will not need to claim them at the cruise terminal just proceed directly through U.S. Customs and Border Protection with your proof of citizenship and U.S. Customs Declaration Form. If this is the case, be sure to keep important items out like your "Key to the World" card, proof of citizenship, electronics and medicines as you won't see your bags for over 24 hours since they are collected outside your stateroom door no later than 10:30 p.m. on the last night of the cruise.
If you have not purchased ground transportation, your airline does not participate in the Onboard Airline Check-in program or you are cruising from a non-Florida port of departure, you may want to consider renting a car for the day that you can pick up near the port and return to the airport. I know in Port Canaveral there are several car rental agencies close to the port like Alamo and Avis that provide a shuttle to their office. This might be a good option depending on your plans for the day.
I hope my answer is helpful, Anit! Please write back if we can assist you further.
Have a magical day!
