Hi Danielle!
Welcome to planDisney!
California Grill is one of my favorite restaurants…and the view of the fireworks from there is something special!
I’m happy to report that when I recently had an early dinner reservation there, I was able to return later that night for the fireworks. We just needed to show our receipt to the Cast Member at the California Grill check-in area located on the 2nd floor of the
Contemporary. Then, they allowed us to take the elevator back up to the restaurant in time to enjoy the fireworks from the balcony.
Make sure to check the time of the fireworks before you head back over to the restaurant. If Magic Kingdom is hosting
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, the fireworks display will likely be a little later that night. In that case, you’ll also be watching Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show instead of
Happily Ever After.
If you’re trying to fill time between dinner and the fireworks, I recommend taking the
Monorail to do a little “resort hopping.” You can take the Monorail around the resort loop to visit the
Polynesian and
Grand Floridian. I always think it’s fun to check out the different vibes at the resorts and maybe even grab a drink or treat at each resort as we make our way around the loop.
I hope that helps! Have the best trip! And let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan.
Jenn J.
