We're a retired couple planning to go to Disney World next April for the very first time. Given that we want the full experience, where should we stay and for how long? Thanks, Gloria

  • Hello Gloria,

Welcome to the Moms Panel.  We're glad you're here.  We love to answer questions for first timers and I know you'll be getting a lot of great advice from the panel.  Being an empty nester, my husband and I still LOVE to vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort. It's not just for kids, at all.

I recommend Epcot as the best park for adults, so I suggest staying at one of the Epcot Resorts:  Disney's Yacht and Beach Club, or Disney's Boardwalk.  Both resorts will have you in the center of the action being within walking distance.

To get the full experience of all the theme parks, it's best to stay no less than four days. That will give you one day at each park to soak in all of the fun at the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot.

There is fabulous dining at all of the parks, but I think you'll enjoy immersing yourselves in the culture and cuisine of the restaurants around World Showcase.  Please look over the listing and select your favorite and don't forget to make your Advanced Dining Reservations.

You have planned your trip to coincide with the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival.  Epcot is at its most beautiful with fabulous topiaries, flowers and other outdoor beauty.  Seasonal foods are also available so you can enjoy all the flavors of spring.

It's been wonderful to assist you today.  I know that you'll be getting more awesome answers from the panel to be able to plan a magical trip.

    Leanne T.
