Are there weight/size/cardiac restrictions on Avatar ride?

Hi there, Diana! It sounds like you're getting ready for your journey through the Valley of Mo'ara in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park! Avatar Flight of Passage is the headliner attraction here, and I've been lucky enough to ride on the back of a banshee (or Ikran as the Na'vi say) several times already.

When you approach the attraction, you'll see a sign with an official description and a few warnings. You should be in good health and free from heart problems to ride, but that being said, the ride is not rough or jerky. I'd describe it as a cross between family friendly and thrilling at the same time, and the 4.5-minute journey has a few drops and acrobatic maneuvers that can take your breath away. The only size requirement is Guests must be 44" tall to ride. The ride vehicle looks similar to a motorcycle, and leg and back restraints keep Guests sitting securely. While the experience is comfortable for most, I have seen a few Guests not be able to ride because of body dimensions, so I'd advise moving your legs and knees as far forward as possible. A test seat of the ride vehicle is located outside the attraction for anyone who wants to try it out.

Diana, if you get a chance, I'd also recommend grabbing a meal at Satu’li Canteen (the Chopped Wood-Grilled Chicken Bowl is my favorite) and visiting after dark to see all the plants that come to life with bioluminescence at night. Enjoy your aerial expedition!
